Kiesler Wellness Center is a 16,000 sf building situated on a hilltop in Grand Rapids MN. A mental health center, Kiesler’s is an outreach to people of different ages, abilities, needs, etc, and the programming at Kiesler Wellness Center was extensive. Staff and clients methodically thought through the spaces required for many different activities throughout the day, both inside and outdoors. Large group, as well as small, person-to-person spaces were required. Social spaces- cooking, dining, entertaining, provide for a variety of experiences. The facility houses nearly 1,500 sf of fully stocked art and shop space. A rec center with pool tables, games, video stations, overlooks the sunny outdoor patio space, adjacent to community gardens. The social area includes a well-stocked commercial kitchen, which is open to members for occasional cooking classes. Dining areas flow onto covered outdoor patio spaces. A great room, with fireside seating, hosts everything from large scale events to table top games. Nearly 5,000 sf house administration and staff offices.
